This toolkit provides support to build capacity, training, marginalized community engagement, and a customized program development plan for community members, community development corporations, and community organizations. Using established deliverables, best practices will be created to streamline Community Based Organization’s engagement with developers, contractors, academia, and corporations and increase utilization of MWDBEs.
This process plan helps to establish foundational information to help any organization or company manage change through a race, gender, and equity lens. The plan includes 4 phases to walk the most novice through research, learning and development, metrics, and an implementation plan. Deliverables will include: a process plan that will include resources to define inequities, tools and metrics to address inequities, and an implementation plan to operationalize the plan.

A conduit to marginalized communities to intentionally address racial issues in local environmental justice initiatives and provide a model that functions for the most impacted in communities. The blueprint will bridge the gaps in shared language between community members, organizers/activists, academia, and corporations. It will provide rules of engagement and tools for organizations to mitigate the cooption of methods traditionally used in marginalized communities and acknowledge their contributions.
